1. Craig Kielburger (@craigkielburger)
Craig Kielburger is the founder of "Free The Children", a non-governmental organization that serves to protect children's rights. He was inspired to make social change when he was only 12 years old after reading an article on child labor. He began to research child labor and then created an organization with his friends called "twelve-twelve year olds". Now Kielburger's 12-year old inspiration has led to what is now which is now an international organization, with 45 participatory countries. Craig is an inspiration because his work has demonstrated that when we act on our passion, beliefs and inspirations, no matter how young, we can achieve great things. Check out his twitter account at!/craigkielburger.

2. Do Something (@dosomething)
@Dosomething is a twitter account for an organization that promotes youth to follow what they're passionate about and act on it! Their website is, and it offers tons of suggestions on campaigns to run, ways to fundraise for your cause/club and ways to get people motivated for your cause. By following Do Something, I get updates on poverty facts, campaigns that are running and fun ideas to get causes off the ground. It's inspiring because it helps empowers me to act on my interests and Do Something!!/dosomething

3. The Economist (@theeconomist)
Although it might sound boring, The Economist is a great magazine that prints international news articles weekly. The reason that I follow the Economist is because although I'm sometimes too busy to read the newspaper or watch the news, I think that knowing about what's going on in the world is very important.  By Following the Economist on Twitter, I get all kinds of updates on important international stories. Tweet It!

Hello Horizons students!

Another amazing job to everyone who completed the "What You're Into' post! It's great hearing about all the diffrent interests that each of you have and how significantly you contribute to each of your  activities.

The deadline for your second last post is coming up on Sunday, February 19th, and it's all about Twitter!
Here's what to do:
1. Go to
If you have an account, sign in! If you don't have an account, you'll need to make one, but it's really simple! All you need is your name, email address and a username/password.
2. Start searching!
Once you're signed in, start searching for organizations or people that interest or inspire you! You can also search for keywords such as "leadership". Try to find at least 3 people or organizations that inspire you and click "follow" on their page.
3. Write your blog post!
Once you've found your three pages, write a blog post giving the names of the person/organization, the links to their twitter pages and briefly explain why you chose these three pages.

I'm looking forward to seeing all your twitter links! Don't be afraid to get creative with this. :)
Let me know if you have any questions.
